If you are lucky enough to attend a performance of The Penelopiad, be sure to tell us all about it!
From the review of National Post's Robert Cushman:
"It's down to Megan Follows to set the tone as Penelope, and she sets and maintains it in a performance of exemplary grace and intelligence...
Follows' technical achievement alone is remarkable; in a packed witty text, not a line or a point gets past her. She was still surprising me into laughter, right up till the end. As sharp as her humour, and as fastidiously conveyed, is her pain [...] This might be called a post-tragic performance, bearably wounded, eternally quizzical."

From TorontoStage.com's Steven Berketo:
"Megan Follows is a perfect fit as a near perfect wife in what could be her best Toronto stage work to date."

FIRST REVIEW FOR 'THE PENELOPIAD' IS IN!

Richard Ouzounian's review of The Penelopiad for the Toronto Star is in:
★★★★ (out of 4)! And nothing less
According to Ouzounian, "The Penelopiad is a major work, given a major production and it deserves the attention of anyone who wants to see just how great a piece of Canadian theatre can be, in the right hands."
Ouzounian also has high praise for the entire cast. And his thoughts on Megan? "Megan Follows captures countless shades of regret and longing as Penelope."
You can read his full review here.
I've updated the website with the detailed page of the play. There you will find links to the reviews as they come in, as well as links to some production stills.
Also, Bob sent us our first Penelopiad fan report and his verdict sounds much like Ouzounian's: go see this play.

MEGAN'S NEW 'HEARTLAND' EPISODE TO AIR ON JANUARY 15, 2012

It's official, Megan fans. January 2012 will kick off in a thrilling way what promises to be an exciting new year for Megan, as the month will feature our favorite actress on both the stage and the small screen.
In addition to the Penelopiad run in Toronto, Megan's Heartland episode will also air in January, on the 15th to be exact. She will return to the show as Lily, Ty's mother, in this season's 11th episode entitled "Fool's Gold" (Source: [x]). I will be posting more news about this episode as episode stills, and maybe a more detailed synopsis, get released.
So to recap, here's what we can look forward to in 2012 so far:
Theatre: Nightwood Theatre's production of The Penelopiad from Jan. 10 to 29 in Toronto (now in rehearsals)
Film: Cassandra Nicolaou's 6-minute short film Where Are The Dolls (now in post-production)
TV: Guest-starring on the 5x11 episode of Heartland (scheduled to air on January 15)
TV: Starring in the 8-hour mini-series World Without End, based on the Ken Follett novel (set to premiere sometime in 2012)
Print: Interview in the January 2012 issue of Toronto Life
Pretty good so far, right? Here's hoping we get even more new projects as the year progresses.
